Sleeper Mechanism

We offer a variety of contract sleeper mechanisms in all our sleeper products.  Standard pricing includes the HS 900P series 2-year mechanism.  Additional options include:

  1. The L&P 2700 series 2-year mechanism is available at a pricing surcharge of $15.00 per sleeper.

  2. The HS 905 series 5-year mechanism is available at a pricing surcharge of $24 .00 per sleeper.  Click for more info on the optional HS 905 series mechanism.

  3. The L&P Classic Square series 5-year mechanism is available at a pricing surcharge of $27.00 per sleeper.  The Classic Square mechanism is not available in Chair Sleepers and Cuddler Sleepers.

In the event of a Sleeper Mechanism malfunction, we will require digital or film pictures of troubled area.  These photos need to be mailed or e-mailed to Furniture Crafters of Virginia, Inc. Attn: Customer Service Department along with written description of the problem.  Unit manufacturers’ will not warrant misuse and/or abuse and make the final replacement decision.  

Extended length of open unit in any size sleeper away from wall or back of sleeper sofa is 88 ½ inches.

Test Objective
Evaluation of the durability of the sleeper mechanism when subjected to intensive use such as might be encountered in a hotel or resort environment where daily use would be the norm.

Test Protocol
Based on a theoretical daily use of the sleeper mechanism, the unit would be opened and closed 365 times in one year.  In a ten year period the procedure would be repeated 3650 times. To determine the capability of the unit to satisfactorily perform on a daily basis for that period of ten years, we cycled the mechanism for a total of 3650 times.

Summary of Test Results
Throughout the test procedures the sleeper mechanism was continually checked for signs of metal fatigue, bending, loose rivets, jammed connections, etc. none of these factors appeared.  at the termination of the open/close testing the mechanism operated freely and without restriction or binding of any kind.  Close examination of all joints and struts revealed no weak points or excessive looseness.

"Based upon our testing, this sleeper mechanism, identified by the client as the MODEL 905 Resorter easily exceeds the qualifications that would be required for ten years of heavy commercial use."

Mattresses 

All our sleeper products come standard with a contract commercial grade 5” innerspring mattress.  All mattresses are constructed with special damask quilted top and border, with matching filler cloth on the bottom.  Spring Coil counts are as follows:
